The Space Shuttle is scheduled to launch today carrying the orbiter Discovery. Lift off is scheduled for 10:38 AM Wisconsin time, 11:38 AM Florida time.

The main events of the mission to the International Space Station (ISS) include five spacewalks, during which the newly delivered Harmony node (for future connection of European and Japanese science laboratories) will be installed, moving a pair of solar arrays from their temporary home to their permanent home, and other “housekeeping” activities.
Once the shuttle reaches 100 kilometers (62.1 miles) altitude, that will put the count of humans in space to ten: three from the International Space Station and seven from the shuttle.
