Write to Chris
Posted on July 31st, 2010 No commentsI updated the panel on the right of your screen. The top widget now has the information you need to send Chris Kulke a letter while he is in Air Force Basic Training. This morning, we sent two letters to him: one from all the boys, and a second envelope just from Melody and I.
Take a second, and use that old pen and paper and stamp ($0.44) and let Chris know you are thinking about him. I don’t know how much time he has to write back, but I am know he is well equipped to right if he gets a few moments.

In the Air Force now
Posted on July 30th, 2010 No commentsChris has arrived in San Antonio, Texas for Basic Training. Just imagine, starting a physically demanding 8 and 1/2 week training session, and the temperatures are in the mid to upper 90s, the UV index is 10+, and the heat index (feels like), well, I won’t even talk about the heat index.
My hats off to Chris for being brave and strong.
If his training schedule stays on target, he should be graduating from Basic around the end of September. At that point, the temperatures for viewing graduation should be around 87. Still warm.
I will keep you updated with info about Chris as I hear it.

Rain from 7/22
Posted on July 23rd, 2010 1 commentHey, I got some pictures from the rain last night. Specifically, from the fun aftermath in the backyard. Check them out in this Dropbox Gallery.
Ooh, and these are from my new Sony H55 camera. My old camera died, it is the first camera I have that died. Less than two years old, and boy was I upset. It died with the lens out, and wouldn’t power up. So, I did some research to try and find a solution, because I knew the cost to fix it would be more than what the camera was worth. All the research failed. So, I took it apart. A dozen micro screws later, I flipped out the LCD screen and it’s protector, and found something went ka-blewy on the circuit board. It looked just like a mini explosion. A couple of hours later, after research on a new camera, and the H55 was ordered, with it’s 14.1 megapixel images and a 10x optical zoom. So far, I have nothing but praise for the camera.

Mad Tom Rackham
Posted on July 21st, 2010 8 commentsMy pirate name is:Mad Tom Rackham
Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!
