It is time once again to learn about the icons in the upper right of my web site. Today I am going to give you a little insight about the icon on the left.
If you don’t already know, well, then where have you been? This icon is one of the most recognized icons for the past six months. This is the icon for the 2008 Presidential Campaign of Barack Obama. This icon represents one of the most important decisions you can make in the near future, and I hope you are taking this decision seriously.
I support Barack Obama for President for several reasons. Following is a few of the reasons why I think Barack is a better leader for our country.
- Economy: The trickle down economic politics of the current administration is not working. The middle class (which I am proud to be a part of) needs help, the kind of help that Obama will provide. No increase in taxes for anybody making less than $250,000 (I personally don’t know a single person that this is bad for). Tax relief for small businesses and startups, which are very important to a strong economy.
- Education:Obama and Joe Biden will create a new American Opportunity Tax Credit worth $4,000 in exchange for community service. It will cover two-thirds the cost of tuition at the average public college or university and make community college tuition completely free for most students. More educated students always make a stronger America!
- Energy & Environment: Oil is not the energy of the future. It works fine now, and we will be using it for a while, but we need to take aggressive steps towards moving away from America’s addiction to oil, and more drilling is not the direction we need to take. Invest in new energy technologies. Invest in “green collar” jobs. Maybe what is needed is an early NASA/Apollo aggressive type of program that will bring about the energy we need, and make this world a cleaner better place for the generations following us.
- Foreign Policy: Obama and Biden will renew American diplomacy to meet the challenges of the 21st century. They will rebuild our alliances. And they would be willing to meet with all nations, friend and foe, to advance American interests.
In six days Americans will make a decision that will affect the world. I know what decision I am going to make, and I hope that you share my view. But, no matter what decision you make, be sure to be informed, be sure to be smart, and be sure to be proud about your decision! Your vote counts! Your vote counts more this year than any previous year.
Finally, I have one thing left to say. When you go to the Polls on Tuesday, if you have children, be sure to bring them along. Show them that you are part of the system, and that it matters. Make sure they know it matters when it is their turn too. Leading by example will make the future generations understand their freedom and their opportunities.
