Environment

I came up with a new solution to help the environment. I haven’t thought it all the way through yet, but I am going to share with you now, and maybe we can grind out a few details, and let someone know about it.

It has to do with all those teen drivers that all need their own car. I know eight years ago a rule was passed that limited the numbers of teens in cars, and that rule has save a lot of lives. But, if you think about it, that rule has also added a lot of emissions to the air.

When I was in High School (here goes my old man talk), I would pile into a car with three, four, and five of my friends, and we would go out. One car, one trip. But now, each one of these kids has to take their own car to get to point B. And of course, if the teenager has their own car, then they are probably driving an old beater that doesn’t come close to the emissions standards of new cars. That is five times the emission output compared to 16 years ago.

I think car exhaust is the number two polluter in the U.S., and the number of deaths from air pollution is growing at an alarming rate. Maybe it is time to rethink the affect of our rules in a new green environment.
